where's the crack

I do not consider myself to be free, in fact I think I am the modern equivalent of a slave. First World style of course. My modest dwelling is the reason for my servitude and my overlord is the bank. The cost of the most basic necessity is so ridiculous that the notion of a stay at home parent has become a relic of old decency Hilarious that this forced social shift was greased by the “ socialist” Bertie and his business partners in the Dail.
Are we really supposed to be surprised that our slavish copying of the American model has also given us a building wave of big money crime and it’s attendant extreme violence.
I had a very happy childhood in this country but what I saw in the last fifteen years makes me wonder will our children feel the same?

do it again

What is the nature of addiction? We, clearly, are creatures of habit and perhaps it’s merely a far more refined vision of endless repitition than is accepted by the ordinary person. I have found that most people have an over fondness for something, or somebody, that someone else will perceive as being an addiction. The media seems to be making judges of all of us and a lot of us are lapping it up. How many people will happily agree that they are addicted to t.v. without questioning exactly what they are addicted to?
Needless to say I have so many that I just do not have the time for such idle banter.

Save the children

I have just had a sickeningly real brush with our mortality and pleasant is not in it. My sonshine ran straight into the corner of a coffee table and I nearly died. He smacked his head literally between the eyes with a dull but loud thud. In the following few seconds I was totally overcome as every possible outcome fired in my brain and the vast majority of them were unthinkable.
My Everything was cradling the boy, who was crying but remarkably composed, and he was showing no signs of concussion. We decided to take no chances and we brought him to the local pharmacy. The pharmacist looked him over and was satisfied that as long as we observed no change in his condition during the evening he should be fine.
Thank You God.

sweetheart of the bored

Another day of abject weakness. Now comes the self loathing and recriminations, flagellate yourself you pitiless grub. Everything all of the time and where does that leave you? Paradise priced out of reach and guarded by Peels Angels. Only the strong survive long enough to see it for what it is and by then tiredness has set in.
Luckily enough this moronic pilgrimage does grant a finely tuned sense of bewildered humour and this in itself is worth the toll.

no hurry

“Why on earth are we here
surely not to live in pain and fear”

When John Lennon wrote those words he was on top of the mountain looking down at the world and he saw that it was not good. Unlike the contemporary * STAR * ,he was not particularly taken by his first class station afforded by his Beatle wealth and could have wondered, why this particular bunch have everything?
A little education is a terrible thing and we are all only a brief episode away from intellectual disability. We really need to stop for a moment and see if we are doing well. Does your life resemble your aspirations or are you a viewer of your glimpse of the sun?
“ Instant Karma “ goes on to insist that we all shine on and as it is essential for us to strive for optimism I agree.
