there goes a tenner

i'm sure it's one of the unpleasant side orders of ageing but i find myself tut tutting the lack of mavericks in musical entertainment today. when it was all fields around here we had the likes of Japan,P.I.L.,The Slits(for about 2 minutes, granted),Gang of Four,Magazine,The Cramps and,.......feel the love.................., Kate Bush.
she remains one of my all time loves. i remember vividly seeing her for the first time on totp(imagine people that's all we had back then) and being amazed. she was only slightly older than me and her songwriting had come to the attention of Dave Gilmour who helped her get a deal with emi. Her first single,Wuthering Heights, was a huge hit and it launched her career in fine fettle.
my personal favourite is The Dreaming, her third album. now i've got to admit that i hate '80's music production and it's amazing that i can even listen to this record.i feel it's a testament to her talent that her vision was so special that not even '80's production could harm it.
i would implore people with too much time and money on their conscience to check out this wonderful platter.
